Coinciding with the event, the third edition of the Arco Rock Star, the international climbing photography contest, also took off. Nine teams of professional photographers from five European countries competed for two days in search of the perfect shot. The level reached by the different teams was really high and the jury had to choose with great difficulty. The winner, John Thornton, a British photographer, was given a € 1,500 check and a prize in material from Climbing Technology, La Sportiva and F-Stop Gear. Second place for Giovanni Danieli and third place for Matteo Mocellin. The La Sportiva Anniversary award, which this year will celebrate the 90th anniversary of the company’s birth, and which wants to remember the climbing of the past in the gestures, colors and atmospheres, has been won by the photographer Matteo Pavana. This year obviously the competition was not only for professionals, but also for photography lovers who were able to participate in the Open category, won for the second consecutive year by Graziano Galvagni.
