Arc’teryx Alpine Academy

Arc’teryx Alpine Academy

From the 5th to the 8th of July the seventh edition of the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy took place in the beautiful town of Chamonix. An event organized in detail and open to all to deepen or acquire the techniques of mountaineering and climbing, bringing together hundreds of participants from all over Europe to share the same passion for mountains. About 500 participants and 100 mountain guides were involved who together with the Arc’teryx athletes managed to convey their great passion for mountains and for sport.

There were many Academy proposals this year for beginners eager to learn and for experts looking to improve theirselvs: from the first level mountaineering for beginners to the third level for the most competent, from basic climbing techniques, to trad climbing and the artificial one, for those wishing to face a big wall; from ice climbing to trail running, from the techniques of recovery from a serac, to the crossing of a glacier in safety; from mountain photography and many others. There were also many seminars that took place this year in the center of Chamonix: from the intervention of Greenspits to that of Robert Jasper, a professional athlete who tackled the theme of the expedition, explaining its personal meaning. The event was also accompanied by the musical notes of several local groups, who entertained the spectators every evening at the end of the different clinics.

A truly exciting event that has been able to combine and entertain many outdoor enthusiasts. Three days of sport and love for the mountains under its thousand nuances.
