Donation record for Snow Leopard Day

Donation record for Snow Leopard Day

On 2 and 3 March 2019 Dynafit, a leading company in the world of mountain endurance sports, gave life to the tenth edition of the International Snow Leopard Day. In eleven different countries ski mountaineers were called to collect meters in altitude to safeguard the Snow leopard. After the great successes of the last few years the event has reached a new record of donations: this year the participants have in fact covered a total of 1,604,138 meters in altitude, about 500,000 more than last year. Dynafit will convert every meter in a hundredth of a euro to the Snow Leopard Trust, for a final donation of 16.042 euros. The proceeds of this year’s Snow Leopard Day will be donated, as well as research on the habitat of the snow leopard, the first world census of the population of this elegant animal, an essential procedure for its protection. In Italy the project stopped in Misurina, in the province of Belluno, where 50,920 meters in altitude were collected, thanks also to the personal challenge of the Dynafit Trail Hero Marc Slanzi, who has covered the track from Misurina to Forcella della Neve for six times, accumulating alone 4,500 meters in altitude.

“As all companies we have a great responsibility towards the climate, the environment and land resources – says Alexander Nehls, International Marketing Director Dynafit – The protection of endangered species is a fundamental part of our CSR program, an issue that is very close to our heart. The Snow Leopard Day is the perfect opportunity to put the passion for ski mountaineering at the service of a good cause. The snow leopard is the symbol chosen for our logo, and we want to make a tangible contribution to protect it from extinction. We’ve been organizing this event for ten years, and it’s great to see how our community continues to grow and engage in the cause. “
