Empire Crew Parka – Columbia Sportswear

Columbia goes behind the scenes and unveils the new jacket inspired by Star Wars: “L’impero colpisce ancora”. The Empire Crew is a limited edition jacket inspired by part of the cast and crew that filmed some scenes of the film almost forty years ago in Norway. To protect themselves from the icy wind and the most adverse conditions, they needed good winter equipment to keep them warm during filming. The producers then organized a clothing supply for the Norwegian team that also included a padded and colored parka. There are still a few original jackets from that period, but today the most avid fans will be able to make up for the limited edition of Columbia Star Wars.

The Empire Crew Parka celebrates at the same time the original design and weather resistant Columbia technologies to protect from extreme winter conditions. The waterproof, breathable outer layer with heat-sealed seams acts as the Echo Base shield generator to protect against atmospheric agents, while the Omni-Heat heat reflective coating and insulation will keep you warm like a Wookiee. The jacket features a detachable hood, with a faux fur trim, double collar, ribbed cuffs with zips and multi-purpose pockets. To pay tribute to the place where the cast and crew have challenged extreme temperatures to film these historic scenes, the jacket lining includes the coordinates of the Hardangerjøkulen glacier in Norway.
