With the FW 25-26 collection, Ortovox introduces two innovative insulating materials: Metawool, the first merino wool padding, and DownWool by Grüezi Bag, a hybrid technology that combines the lightness of down with the thermoregulating comfort of wool.

“Ortovox has focused on wool since its first clothing collection launched in 1988, with a completeness and continuity quite unique in the outdoor scene. This choice is also linked to the constant search for innovative materials,” says Christine Brien, Head of Material at Ortovox. “With these two new technologies, we once again affirm our role as leaders in technical products made with natural materials.”

The Downwool 270 Jacket is the warmest jacket ever developed by Ortovox, designed for freeriding, winter mountaineering, and the most extreme conditions. The hybrid DownWool technology combines 70% RDS-certified down with 30% wool, enhancing fill power by up to 30% in humid conditions. This synergy allows the jacket to retain warmth even when the body sweats or the weather is particularly variable, while avoiding overheating thanks to wool’s natural moisture management. The outer fabric, Pertex Quantum Pro, made from 100% recycled polyamide, offers windproof and water-repellent protection. The jacket is available in both men’s and women’s versions.

When temperatures plummet and the snow becomes powdery, the Ravine Metawool 90 Jacket is the ideal companion for off-piste adventures. Its 90 g/m² Metawool padding, composed of 80% merino wool from sheep raised in Germany, ensures constant warmth even on the coldest days. The ultra-durable and windproof outer material is made from 100% recycled polyamide, effectively protecting against unstable weather. The weight-to-insulation ratio and high compressibility make it easy to pack in a backpack, perfect for those seeking performance without sacrificing lightness. The design features an original all-over quilting and functional details designed for freeriding, but the jacket is also suitable for various high-altitude activities.
