The Freeride World Tour champion joins the roster of the two brands’ team, bringing with her enormous experience and in-depth product knowledge.

Two-time Freeride World Tour champion, alpine rescuer and sports journalist: of course, we are talking about Eva Walkner, recently welcomed to the Rab and Lowe Alpine team of athletes. The decision was undoubtedly made because of the enormous experience of the athlete who has a competitive career and numerous ski expeditions behind her, a background that proved to be very useful in the development of Khroma, Rab’s ski mountaineering collection.

Since 2018, when she ended her career as a race and freeride skier, she has embarked on numerous ski expeditions including Iran, India, Alaska, South America and Greece. She has also tackled descents known for their difficulty, such as the west face of the Eiger, ‘Y-Couloir in La Grave, the Canale del Prete in the Dolomites and the Dirty Needles in Alaska.

“The right kit is essential in demanding and challenging situations, even more, when it gets uncomfortable or you want to deliver 100%” Eva explains. “At Rab, you can feel that the design team fully understands the various activities, the athletes and their needs and therefore crafts what I expect as a mountain person, freeride skier and mountain rescuer. I am very much looking forward to this partnership and to bring in my own experiences.”

Mario Alkov, Equip Country Manager GAS, comments: “Eva is a precious addition to our athlete team. She is a successful ski and mountain athlete, has a wealth of product knowledge and is an amazing person. We look forward to working with her.”
