Just today, a little more than 48 hours after the end of our The Pill Base Camp, we realize the sharp growth of our Unconventional Business event. The numbers help us clear our minds: for the two-day test event in Sestriere, 340 retailers representing 206 Italian outdoor store brands showed up; these are the lucky ones who had the chance to test the new F23W24 products from 61 ski and snowboard brands.

On Monday, January 16 and Tuesday, January 17, the slopes of Sestriere welcomed hundreds of people to the third edition (the second in its winter format) of our event, The Pill Base Camp. Two days dedicated to the world of snow, where buyers from 206 Italian outdoor stores were able to meet with representatives of 61 brands and test the new products for the upcoming winter season such as skis, snowboards, bindings, boots, goggles, clothing, backpacks and accessories.

A variable weather of snow and sunshine stayed with us for the entire event, with enough snowfall to enjoy fresh powder and test products in ideal conditions.

Not just testing: we also had talks, experiences and a dinner at I.GLOO, the venue located right next to Base Camp. Here a series of very interesting indoor appointments including Lorenzo Alesi and Alice Linari screening the film “On Our Way,” then Web & E-commerce expert Marco Serpentino for the talk “Social & Paid Traffic: better friends than enemies.” Once the talk was over, we relaxed (and gassed up) with Monkey Sound’s rockin’ live performance that preceded the DJ Set (those who followed us on social know what happened).

Tuesday started again as the previous day with testing, coffee breaks and buyer-brand conversations. At 7 a.m. selected lucky retailers had the chance to participate in the experience by Tecnica and Blizzard, with a ski tour led to the top by an expert guide. Then breakfast at the hut and off to draw lines downhill, arriving at Base Camp just in time for the village opening. At 4:30 p.m., punctual as Swiss watches in anticipation of the slopes closing, all that was left of The Pill Base Camp was a square of smooth snow but with plenty of excitement and plenty of product testing and handshakes.

We are very satisfied with this edition, the feedback from the attending stores and brands motivated us to do even more and make our event grow. An event that we like to consider an unconventional business event, just like our Journal that has very little conventionality.

SAVE THE DATE!
