Fjällräven postpones Polar 2020 event

Covid-19: Fjällräven postpones Polar 2020 event and announces a double edition in 2021

The Covid-19 emergency also impacts on the big outdoor event Fjällräven Polar. In the last hours the Swedish company announced that the 2020 edition of the famous Arctic event has been postponed until next year. A change of program, Fjällräven assures, which will in no way affect the long-awaited competition for the 2021 edition.

Next year, in fact, the Polar appointment will be double and will allow both the lucky winners of the 2020 edition and those of the 2021 edition to take part in the incredible adventure in the heart of the Arctic Circle.

The words from the company

“As you already know, the World Health Organization (WHO) has officially declared a pandemic for the Covid-19 outbreak. In recent weeks we have been monitoring the situation on all fronts and assessing the potential impact this will have on our next Fjällräven Polar event.

Following careful consideration and reflection from official representatives, physicians, international partners and staff, we have assessed all options and concluded that we should postpone this year’s Polar event. The health of our participants and staff is very important to us. In this way we also choose to contribute to the prevention of further expansion of the Covid-19. We know how much everyone involved in the Polar 2020 event has worked on their campaigns and applications to join us, and this is something we greatly appreciate and value. Therefore, in 2021 there will be two events: a Polar event for those who have registered for this year and are forced to postpone, and a new Polar 2021 event for new members”.

More information will be published in Polar Fjallraven on Monday, March 30.
