Garmin revamps outdoor navigation: GPSMAP 67/67i and eTrex SE

Versatile, accurate, and wide-ranging in durability. These are just some of the features of the GPSMAP 67 series and the small but powerful eTrex SE, the new portable GPS receivers for the outdoors, designed to maximize the navigation experience in any environment.

The new devices enable an approach, more precise, simple and conscious, to undertake leisure and professional activities with cutting-edge accessories that can ease the way along paths and reach one’s destination, thanks in part to extreme battery life.

GPSMAP 67/67i

An evolution of the historic GPSMAP 60 series introduced in 2004, it raises the technological coefficient of the entire range of devices by integrating multiband support, the chipset designed to receive multiple satellite frequencies, to ensure further precise positioning response. The series offers an immediate and highly intuitive interface through buttons that can be conveniently used even with gloves on. The large 3” color display is perfectly readable even in bright ambient light. In addition, GPSMAP 67i equipped with inReach technology allows users to stay in touch with friends and family, via text message, e-mail and tracklog, even where cell phone service does not provide coverage. But that’s not all: in the event of an emergency, an interactive SOS can be activated that can directly reach Garmin Response, the 24/7 international rescue coordination center. Both models are powered by internal lithium-ion batteries to provide longer life, which provides up to 180 hours in standard receiving mode and up to 840 hours in expedition mode.

eTrex SE

The latest version of Garmin’s longest-running line of outdoor handhelds. Effective and easy to use, they are perfect in any situation. This innovative satellite reception solution offers lovers of walking with family members and trekking with friends up to 168 hours of battery life on 2 AA batteries (sold separately) in standard location tracking mode and up to 1,800 hours in expedition mode. The intuitive interface is supported by a 2.2” high-contrast monochrome display, which allows waypoints, tracking, location and navigation along the route to be displayed even in bright ambient light. Its ruggedness and specially conceived design make it perfect for use in any condition and environment, thanks to its IPx7 waterproof rating. The eTrex SE has GPS orientation and tracking functions making use of a built-in digital compass to show your direction at any time and place.

Finally as far as the GPSMAP 67 series is concerned, on the Alpine arc it reaches the maximum of its potential thanks to the integration of TOPO Alps PRO, the topographic map with scale starting from 1:25,000, trail and road detail of the whole area of the Alps, from France to Slovenia passing of course through the whole Alpine chain of the Italian territory.

Garmin GPSMAP 67 is available at authorized retail outlets at a suggested retail price of 549.99 euros, and Garmin GPSMAP 67i, at 649.99 euros. The small SE, on the other hand, can be purchased for 179.99 euros. Both models can be paired with the app
Garmin Explore.
