Gore Wear presents Gore R7 Shakedry

Athletes who go beyond their limits must be able to count on the right gears and often stay outdoors longer than expected. Just a wrong turn and you find yourself suddenly in another valley, in other words the trail running is quite unpredictable. Moreover, for many athletes, this characteristic is what makes it so fascinating, that’s why it’s important to be ready for any eventuality and have the right gears.

If you ask to professional athletes what they put in their backpacks to face the routes or a race, they will have very different answers. But Gore Wear athletes all agree on a single point: safety first.

According to the 43-year-old Norwegian marathon runner, Sondre Amdahl, a professional trail runner and also a trainer at several trail running positions: “Sometimes I run 50 km a day on alpine routes and for safety reasons, I always put a satellite receiver in my backpack, the phone and a first aid kit. When I’m out all day, I prefer to bring some “real food”, like bananas and sandwiches, but sometimes I get a bar or an energetic gel on the fly, so practical and light”.

Eva Sperger is the most famous trail runner in Germany and one of the main athletes to contend for this year’s Skyrunner World Series title. To be full energy during the race, in the backpack she always puts some candies, in addition to an isothermal blanket, a GPS device, an energy drink specially created for her needs and some more clothing.

“But all these things, however, must be light! Every gram makes the difference, for example my phone weighs just 18 grams. In addition, safety is very important when you have to face long distances in the mountains where danger is always lurking, especially when fatigue is felt and conditions suddenly change and make you feel really exhausted. With a weight of online 160 grams, the hooded jacket R7 Gore-Tex Shakedry Trail is the ideal companion to tackle mountain terrain, just think about routes like the E101 Eiger Ultra Trail ones with temperatures ranging from 0 to 30°C and altitudes above 2,000 m where it is easy to find yourself in situations of heavy rain and strong wind. Being able to put your jacket on when you need it and feeling immediately warm, protected and comfortable is really a fantastic feeling” stated Eva.

The new inner lining, combined with the Shakedry product technology, gives life to a much more robust jacket than the original Shakedry model. A garment to wear comfortably on the trails, with a backpack on your shoulders. After all, it has been specially designed to meet the needs of trail running athletes and at the same time, runners can continue to enjoy the benefits of the unbeatable Shakedry product technology being completely waterproof, extremely breathable, lightweight and ultra-compressible. Water forms droplets on the surface that slide away from the head to ensure maximum comfort during the ride, even in case of rain and that you should get wet, the jacket dries in the blink of an eye. In addition to the seamless construction on the shoulders, it has a central area on the bust without seams, around which the seams have been well positioned to keep the shoulder straps in place on the hips and chest.
