HANWAG Makra: the family expands

Beginning in summer 2023, the HANWAG footwear collection grows and welcomes three new models to the Makra family, each designed to meet the needs of different alpine activities, from challenging hikes to via ferrata tours with glacier crossings.

Makra Pro GTX

Lightweight and robust all-round cramponable model, perfect for challenging alpine tours that involve crossing glaciers and rocky sections. PU midsole in the heel area for perfect cushioning and EVA in the forefoot for precision. Alpine Wide Last technology provides more space in the forefoot for greater comfort without sacrificing precision and climbing performance. The HANWAG 2 zone lock lacing system with mechanical lace lock improves the fit at the heel. Finally, the waterproof GORE-TEX membrane combined with the breathable and durable Perwanger leather upper ensure high performance.

Makra Pro Low GTX

Low-cut version of the previous one. A flexible and sturdy approach shoe for challenging terrain. It provides optimal heel cushioning and high edge grip on rough terrain. The optimized Ghillie lacing system slides through fabric loops to the toe area, thus providing a secure fit at the front of the foot and excellent overall stability. The unique Vibram Makra outsole provides exceptional grip. Its lightweight but particularly stable midsole is made of PU and EVA: PU on the heel provides perfect cushioning, EVA on the forefoot ensures greater precision. The waterproof GORE-TEX membrane combined with the breathable and durable Perwanger leather upper ensure high performance.

Makra Trek GTX

Trekking boot with a sporty design and a lightweight and very comfortable sole. The ideal solution for the most demanding alpine excursions with light backpacking up to 3000 meters. The new Makra Trek GTX model is made on Hanwag’s standard Trek fit. The Vibram Integral Light sole construction is extraordinarily lightweight, thanks to the special tread design and HANWAG 3D Prism Base technology. The result is perfect cushioning combined with high stability, further enhanced by the low stack height. HANWAG 2 Zone Lock lacing system with mechanical lace lock improves heel fit. Unlike traditional lace hooks, the mechanical lace stopper remains reliably attached and cannot slip unless manually adjusted. The waterproof GORE-TEX membrane combined with the breathable and durable Perwanger leather upper ensure high performance.
