Kristin Harila kicks off “She Moves Mountains” expedition

Osprey Ambassador Kristin Harila kicked off the expedition that will see her tackle the world’s 14 highest peaks in less than six months.

The former elite cross-country skier and Osprey brand ambassador, started from the summit of Shishapangma in Tibet, just where her previous attempt had stopped a year ago, when after passing the first 12 peaks, China denied her permission to tackle the remaining two.

After climbing her first mountain only in 2015, Harila is now the fastest mountaineer to climb the five highest mountains in the world (68 days), the fastest woman to go from peak to peak between Everest and Lhotse (8.5 hours), and the fastest person to climb six 8,000-meter mountains in spring in Nepal (25 days).

Harila will carry with her, from her first summit to her final finish line, the brand’s iconic and high-performance Osprey Ariel Pro backpack, which is designed specifically for women’s body balancing.
