This pioneering commitment, deeply rooted in the history of the brand, is also reflected in an important environmental and social protection program, started in 1993 with the development of the first eco-designed products and arrived in Chamonix in 2007 with the Operazione Montagna Responsabile, a day of concrete action and awareness on the opportunity to live the mountain in a sustainable and aware way.

The appointment is on 7 September 2019 in Chamonix for the 12th edition of the Operazione Montagna Responsabile, a day of concrete action free and open to everyone where you can discover the routes accompanied by UCPA guides, collect the waste and safeguard the territory that we love the most .

“Since the first edition, 12 years ago, more than 28 tons of waste have been collected by thousands of participants, deeply motivated and aware” – emphasizes Renoud Menozzi, Lafuma brand manager – “We found backpacks, old skis, rackets and gloves. Touching, literally, how much we can hurt the mountain, I think it is the best way to educate those who frequent and love it but then has no problems about leaving waste and plastic on the territory”.

Along the way, in the hardly accessible areas and on the Mer de Glace, special waste containers will be distributed, to allow a deep cleaning of the mountains. In the center of Chamonix, a Village open to the public will be set up, where it will be possible to participate in thematic workshops managed in collaboration with local partners.
