Mammut celebrates its millionth co2 free t-shirt in organic cotton

Over the past ten years, together with its partner company Remei, Mammut has been committed to sustainable and responsible production.

As part of its We Care strategy, Mammut is committed to sustainable and responsible production: during the last ten years, the close cooperation with Remei in the organic cotton sector has always had this objective. During this time, the Swiss brand and its partner have produced over 1.5 million t-shirts made of bioRe Sustainable Textiles. The production of CO2-neutral T-shirts started in 2013: now it is time for the two Swiss companies to celebrate their millionth CO2-free T-shirt, produced together.

The cultivation of organic cotton consumes less water and energy and reduces greenhouse gas emissions, while promoting soil fertility and biodiversity. Organic cotton farming also provides local communities with a good quality of life, thanks to investments in sustainable agriculture. For about 10 years, Mammut has been using organic cotton for its t-shirts as part of its close cooperation with Remei AG, the exclusive licensee of bioRe.

Throughout the world, bioRe meets the highest standards of quality and care in organic cotton cultivation and fair trade. The bioRe Foundation monitors and guarantees compliance with all strict parameters through independent external bodies.

Remei also allows the complete tracking of the entire production cycle, thanks to the exclusive QR code inserted on each product, which allows to verify its history: from the shop where the T-shirt was purchased, to the producer, to the spinning composition, to where the ginning took place, to the precise place where the seeds were grown.

The T-shirts produced together by the two companies are distinguished by the bioRe Sustainable Textiles quality label, which distinguishes environmentally friendly, responsible and organic bioRe cotton clothing. Both companies are enthusiastic about their millionth CO2 free T-shirt, which of course meets the high bioRe requirements.
