Mammut Wins 4 Ispo Awards

Mammut achieves four awards at the ISPO 2020 di Monaco nella categoria “outdoor”. The Eiger X Halo Outfit as well as the Taiss Pro High GTX® mountaineering boot were rewarded with the Gold Award by the international jury of experts due to their enormous innovative performance. In addition, the sleeping bag Women’s Protect Down Bag -21C from the new Recovery Series and the backpack Trion Nordwand 15 get best grades in their categories. “The awards make us very proud. All our products convince with state-of-the-art technologies and high-quality materials. Especially the Eiger X Halo Outfit marks the beginning of a new era for performance products in mountain sports” says Adrian Margelist, Chief Creative Officer of Mammut Sports Group AG.

Over 155 years of experience flow into the innovative modular mountain sports outfit system, which as an overall concept represents the perfect symbiosis of apparel, hardware and footwear. In the future, this outfit offers Pro Team athletes uncompromising functionality to move more easily and efficiently on technical snow, ice and rock surfaces. Wetsuits served as inspiration for the development of the Halo Hybrid HS Bib Pants – the core element of the outfit. The bib shorts with hood offer absolute freedom of movement, weather protection and optimal ventilation. On high alpine, technical routes, the bib shorts are combined with the one-piece Thermo-Baselayer Halo Hybrid ML Onepiece. If the weather requires it due to water, snow or ice, the complementary Halo HS Hooded Jacket transforms the equipment into a fully waterproof mountain sports suit.

Mammut Pro Athlete Stephan Siegrist tested the Halo Suite extensively and is thrilled: “For me, the construction of Mammut’s Halo Outfit is the greatest innovation in the outdoor sector in the last 20 years. A revolution! A daring but extremely valuable step to change the conventional and traditional cut”.

The Taiss Pro High GTX Men is an ideal winter mountaineering boot that prevents fatigue thanks to its low weight. The practical dual-zone Boa fit system can also be used with gloves and guarantees a firm, even and individual hold in the boot. Its Vibram Litebase sole reduces weight while maintaining performance thanks to its special texture. Gore Tex Duratherm keeps feet warm and dry even in extreme conditions. The last moulded in movement with Georganic 3D Technology gives the boot a natural fit.

As part of the new Recovery Series with three new sleeping bag categories, the Women’s Protect Down Bag impresses with a completely revised sleeping bag shape. From -10 °C to -21 °C the sleeping bag guarantees optimum protection from the cold and a restful night on tours with extremely low temperatures when the air almost freezes. Thanks to the frontal two-way zipper the Protect sleeping bags offer significantly improved temperature management and are equipped with additional openings in the arm area. So even when sitting with the sleeping bag closed, the hands can work freely – to prepare a warm drink with the gas stove, for example. Furthermore, all Recovery sleeping bags are Bluesign products.

Mammut Pro Team Athletes Nico Hojac and Stephan Siegrist were significantly involved in the development of the Trion Nordwand 15. The carrying system of this alpine backpack is inspired by light trail running vests and offers a light weight, comfort and freedom of movement with a perfect fit when climbing. Mesh pockets on the shoulder strap enable direct access to GPS, energy bars and other equipment.
