Mammut joined the SAC – Sustainable Apparel Coalition

Following the announcement of the goals for the next five years on the subject of sustainability, Mammut, the leading Swiss outdoor brand, is taking another important step in its approach to responsible production, adhering to the Sustainable Apparel Coalition. The progressive implementation of the Higg Index will now begin, becoming part of a collaborative approach that will increase the measurability of its entrepreneurial responsibility initiatives. The Higg Index of SAC provides all stakeholders with a set of standardized tools to measure environmental impacts, working conditions, including the supply chain, brands and products. The ability to measure the sustainability performance of suppliers, brands and products increases the focus on results and provides a solid basis for a continuous improvement process in the textile industry, as well as addressing the consumer’s need for greater transparency ecological and social. Adrian Huber, Head of Corporate Responsibility at Mammut Sports Group AG explained that: All members of the SAC have pledged to work together to ensure more responsible production in global supply chains. A collaborative approach is essential to support all efforts to continuously improve sustainability performance.

Jason Kibbey, CEO of the SAC commented: “Mammut’s entry into the coalition will allow us to increase our influence in the sector and accelerate the change we are trying to achieve in relation to responsible behavior”.
