Manufacturing Philosophy – Arc’teryx

The Arc’teryx Canadian production plant, the ARC’One, was opened in the 2016 at New Westminster, BC, British Columbia. This structure represents for the brand a great opportunity to optimize the production process of each product, from beginning to end. Prototyped in ARC’One and tested directly on their local mountains. This establishment allows them to maintain the production within the design process, developing the best product.

“People are our greatest resource”

With 480 employees, they are able to experiment new fabric technologies, innovate and develop projects for their partners. Using the modular system Lean, ARC’One is the fastest and most technologically advanced clothing factory in the world, bringing together highly skilled teams. Durability is the strongest path to sustainability; ARC’One produces in such a way that all products and materials are resources to be used in repeated cycles and it is trying to reduce the environmental impact from materilas supply to production. The Arc’teryx’s aim is not to create the lightest or most resistant product, but to create the best possible experience thanks to the specialized technical equipment. It aims at functionality, durability and the fact of wanting to offer the best possible performance. All of this requires a lot of commitment from the partners and their teams and that’ s why they believe that people are their most important resource.
