Milano Montagna Festival & Fuori Festival powered by Vibram, is the event dedicated to the promotion of mountain culture and outdoor sports. Long time friend since the first edition, Vibram strengthens its link with Milano Montagna and in this new edition will support both the Festival with its program of initiatives, and the new born Fuori Festival, demonstrating an increasingly strong will to support the movement and the values of the mountain, with the aim of involving more and more enthusiasts and newcomers in a widespread way.
Starting from this year the Festival also becomes Fuori Festival with a series of events held in the city during the week from the 22nd to the 28th of October. The protagonists of this edition are the Traces that we leave after we passed, those left in the personal and collective imagination of great alpinists, explorers, climbers, skiers, writers and directors, up to those that the mountain leaves within us.
Festival: 25th to 28th of October at BASE Milano, via Bergognone 34. The first of our international guests is Andrzej Bargiel, that with the first complete ski descent of K2 has completed this summer the list of the great challenges in the Himalayas up to now considered impossible. In addition there will be the stories of great international athletes, mountaineers, freeriders and explorers who will talk about the challenges, impossible for decades, that have been now accomplished thanks to the long series of snowfalls of the winter season 2018.
On the stage are also scheduled international film screenings and retrospectives of movies that have made the history of mountain cinematography, book presentations and scientific talks and, as a preview for the Festival, the presentation of the project of the first circular economy Italian park created by the Bocconi University.
New of this edition the Milano Montagna Library: a collection of books with a 360° mountain theme, an invitation to read open to everyone.
Fuori Festival: 22nd to 28th of October, with events all over the city. New of this year is the Fuori Festival, which aims to bring mountains into the heart of the city, thanks to the partnership with CAI Milano that will organize free activities of Nordic walking, orienteering, the tracking of the Monte Stella trail and a taste of the environment Alpine experience with the CAI “Mediolanum”.
The Fuori Festival program will involve other important Milanese institutions such as the MUBA Museo dei Bambini di Milano, the Leonardo Da Vinci National Science and Technology Museum, the Ulrico Hoepli Planetarium, SEA Milan Airports, the Milan Library System and the Italian Touring Club, as well as sports and outdoor stores, climbing gyms, bookshops, restaurants and cultural and sporting associations with events dedicated to sports, culture and mountain food enthusiasts, leaving mountain traces in the city.
