MILLET TOGETHER WITH FRANCESCO RATTI AND MARCO CAMANDONA

Francesco Ratti and Marco Camandona left on September 2nd for a challenging expedition to the mountains of Nepal. The objective of the challenge are Pangpoche (6,620 m) and Manaslu (8,163 m), two unique, complex peaks with different technical characteristics.

The mountaineers, together with François Cazzanelli, Emrik Favre and Andreas Steindl, are confronting in these weeks with a high-level expedition where bad weather has inevitably led to program changes: the team is currently busy on the Manaslu – the eighth mountain of the earth – and postponed the ascent to the inviolate Pangpoche peak between the end of September and the first days of October. But the desire to complete even this expedition does not abandon them.

“We have just returned from the second turn of acclimatization: we slept one night at 6,300 meters and one night at 6,800 meters and climbed up to 7,200 meters” says Francesco Ratti “We are all well and we are ready to try to reach the summit. Here it snowed so much and any trail outside the normal one is too dangerous, so we will try to climb as fast as possible along the normal one, obviously without sherpa or oxygen. The ideal weather for the summit at the moment seems to be scheduled for September 26th. Then we’ll have to open a new route to Pangpoche“. Tenacious, ambitious and close-knit. Everything will depend on the climatic conditions that they will face.

The return of the team of mountaineers engaged in the mountains of Nepal is scheduled for October 15th.
