Millet Tour du Rutor 2020 canceled

Following the Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers of Wednesday March 4 with the measures to contain the spread of COVID 19 (Coronavirus), the Sci Club Corrado Gex announces the cancellation of the 20th edition of the Millet Tour du Rutor Extrême, a ski mountaineering competition, scheduled from the 26th to 29th of March 2020 between the municipalities of Arvier, Valgrisenche and La Thuile (AO).

It has been a tough decision, reluctantly taken by the organizing committee which could be hasty but is the only solution to be able to give back 100% of the registration fee and not burden the athletes even if we know that about 3 weeks before the event most of the costs are have already been supported. All men and women part of the Corrado Gex ski club have been at work for months now and decide to cancel the event was not an easy choice; but health safety and public health come first and foremost and the limitations indicated in the decree are unworkable for a 4-day ski touring event, with numerous collateral events, athletes and people coming from 18 nations.

The Corrado Gex Ski Club gives a heartfelt thanks to all those who have spent in organizing this wonderful competition: from the registered athletes, to the sponsors, to the brands that have joined the Mountain Village, to the regional administration and to the municipal administrations of Arvier , Valgrisenche and La Thuile in addition to the 300 volunteers who contributed with such determination and dedication to the achievement of this twentieth edition which is only postponed.
