Mizuno inaugurates in Turin the first european flagship brand store

Mizuno inaugurates the first single-brand store in Europe in Turin, which officially opened its doors to the public.

The 200sqm store, divided on two levels, is located at number 2 of Via Soleri, in the elegant context of the historic center of the Piedmont capital, among the main shopping streets that already houses the most famous fashion and sport brand. The new space will have the symbolic task of strengthening the community of sportsmen fed by the brand and in charge of filling the corporate philosophy aimed at “contributing to the improvement of society through the development of sport and the production of high quality articles”.

The Japanese company, founded in Osaka in 1906 by Rihachi Mizuno, specializes in the production of sports clothing and equipment and footwear for various disciplines. Today Mizuno is a global company that develops high quality products and that for more than 100 years has been guided by the ideal sporting spirit that still animates its choices.

From a design point of view, the new store is inspired by Japanese culture, with clean and minimalist lines, and incorporates in the stylistic choices the traditional values of the country of the Rising Sun, such as simplicity, purity and elegance. The decision to open the first European single-brand store in Turin is due to the dynamic qualities and credibility acquired by the city in the sports sector, further enhanced after hosting the Winter Olympics in 2006.

Finally, the Piedmont capital is also the official headquarters of the Japanese company in Italy.

Speaking of the new inauguration, the President of Mizuno Italia, Oliver Strenghetto, comments: “We are proud to have opened the first major European single-brand store right here in our country, especially in such a delicate historical moment for Italy and for the rest of the world. The health emergency has highlighted even more the importance of sport in everyday life and will probably also be one of the driving sectors of the restart: this new opening therefore has for us also a symbolic value of rebirth and rediscovery “.
