A digital event for the fashion revolution day: on April 24th online lectures and reflections on sustainability in the fashion world.

Fashion Revolution Italia and Marina Spadafora invite consumers to the online appointment. On the agenda is an analysis of the current scenario, ideas for a more sustainable future and useful tools for a reflection on their purchase choices.

Fashion Revolution Italia, an active movement that promotes ethical and sustainable fashion, will hold a virtual event on Friday 24 April at 6.30 pm on the online platform Zoom, together with Marina Spadafora, national coordinator of Fashion Revolution Italia. The appointment includes a webinar dedicated to sustainable fashion and the role of consumers, an introduction to the first map for sustainable shopping in Italy and the presentation of the book “La rivoluzione comincia dal tuo armadio”.

The event, scheduled for April 24th at 6.30 pm on the Zoom platform at this link, will be divided into three distinct moments, and will begin with the webinar “Principles of sustainable fashion and the role of the consumer” held by Marina Spadafora, National Coordinator of Fashion Revolution Italia. The professor will give a lectio magistralis on sustainability in fashion, to help spread its fundamental principles and to support the consumer in orienting himself among the different aspects of the system, in the deep conviction that a more sustainable purchasing behavior by the consumer in the first person is essential for a systematic and profound change in the fashion industry.

Next, the map of sustainable shopping in Italy will be presented, a valuable tool for those who want to start making responsible purchasing choices. The project, launched in 2019 and started by the Fashion Revolution Italia team, started with a call to action on social media, to collect reports and information about shops or online sites selling sustainable fashion. The contributions of users, combined with the expertise of the Fashion Revolution team, have resulted in a constantly evolving and updated map.

The third and final moment of the event will see the presentation of Marina Spadafora’s book “La rivoluzione comincia dal tuo armadio” (The revolution starts from your wardrobe), realized in collaboration with journalist Luisa Ciuni. The main theme addressed by the essay is the current state of the fashion industry and the possible options to change it for the better in the future.
