Ortovox news for summer 2021: as versatile as the mountains

With the Dry Series line, Ortovox presents its first collection of weatherproof backpacks for the spring/summer 2021 season.

It consists of three models completely without Pfc. The new Westalpen 3L jacket and trousers complete the collection dedicated to mountaineering on snow and ice launched in the summer of 2020. In addition to these novelties, Ortovox will also be relying on tried and tested items during the summer of 2021. In fact, 75 % of the collection will consist of models presented on the market for this year’s collection.

New Dry Line series backpacks: the weather no longer matters

Ortovox’s first line of weather-resistant backpacks, dedicated to high altitude trekking, mountaineering on snow and ice and climbing, is waterproof and does not require an additional rain cover. It is also completely Pfc-free. There are three models in the Dry Series line, each with a regular or reduced length dorsal system: Peak 40/38S Dry, Traverse 30/28S Dry and Trad 30/28S Dry. All three backpacks combine functionality and comfort thanks to a specially designed structure, technical details and comfortable back systems that allow the best load distribution. The external material and the high frequency heat-sealed seams are waterproof. The thin outer layer in Pu and the inner lining in Tpu make the backpack absolutely waterproof without the need for further Dwr treatment, guaranteeing complete protection of the equipment stored in the backpack.

New Westalpen 3l line: a protective layer for high mountains

A system suitable for all conditions. With the novelties for summer 2021, Ortovox completes the collection dedicated to high-altitude mountaineering and the most demanding trekking tours by adding a robust, technical and highly functional hardshell outfit: the Westalpen 3L jacket and trousers. The new three-layer combination is part of the Westalpen system which is divided into hardshell, softshell and a final insulating layer. Thanks to the cut of the sleeves and torso, the windproof and waterproof Westalpen 3L Jacket with Dermizax NX membrane guarantees maximum freedom of movement. This means that you can carry your arms over your head without any difficulty even when wearing the harness and backpack. The front pockets and zippers are designed to be easy to use at all times. The hood leaves room for movement, is adjustable both horizontally and vertically and is compatible with the helmet. You can also adjust the width of the sleeves and hems. The Merino wool lined collar is higher than common collars. These features make the jacket suitable for even the most adverse conditions.
