Osprey donates 50% of SecondLife’s revenue to the NHS

The brand – specializing in backpacks – Osprey has announced that it will donate 50% of SecondLife’s sales revenue to the National Health Service (NHS) charity. The SecondLife platform sells samples of backpacks and repaired backpacks to members on ospreyeurope.com. The organisation chosen for the first half of 2020 is NHS (National Health Service), supporting the Covid-19 crisis fund. In the future, SecondLife’s support fund will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.

“As we prepare to enter a new chapter, it is now more important than ever to recognize our responsibilities in the world around us and bring them back to the community. In light of the current crisis, we have chosen the NHS as the recipient of our funds and we will continue to select important organizations such as physical and mental health or environmental charities”. Says Jonathan Petty, Osprey Europe Managing Director.

The announcement follows the publication of an open letter to the outdoor community with the message ‘The Outdoors Beckons’, underlining the brand’s solidarity with all outdoor enthusiasts around the world. “Through the principles of community, authenticity and inspiring others, we can prevail” which includes the support of friends, neighbours and local retailers.
