Patagonia presents Stone Locals, rediscovering the soul of rock climbing

Climbing has always been more than just a sport. It has created a lifestyle and offered an improvised family to “crazy people” who shared a passion.

But recently it has also breached the common people. In major cities around the world, more and more state-of-the-art gyms are springing up, the cliffs are busier than ever before and a climbing film has even won an Oscar. While rock climbing as a discipline is grappling with its growing popularity, the people at its core and the community are invested with an unprecedented responsibility. They are the people who guide, support and inspire others, listening and learning as much as they teach. This film tells the stories of five of these anchors, the Stone Locals, who keep the soul of climbing alive and feed it as the sport evolves.
