Patagonia: Run to The Source digital première

Today 23 February sees the launch of Run to The Source, the new trail running documentary produced by Patagonia, which explores the themes of nature and ethnic diversity in Britain.

The film features Patagonia’s trail running ambassador Martin “MJ” Johnson as he challenges himself to a gruelling task: setting a new speed record on a symbolic 296km route from the Thames Barrier in south-east London to the source of the river in the Cotswolds. MJ undertook this journey on a specific day: 25 May, the anniversary of George Floyd’s murder.

Along the way, MJ rediscovered himself, remembering how in the early days he was often the only black runner on the start line, reflecting on the history of the many black men and women living in Britain. His aim is to encourage people of different ethnicities to take up running and feel free to explore London’s open spaces, with an increasingly inclusive and diverse vision of outdoor culture.

The film’s première will be online tonight at 7pm CET on Patagonia’s YouTube channel here.
This will be followed by a panel discussion with Martin, cast and crew answering questions in the comments.
