Rossignol Hi-Speed, the ski boot that combines comfort and performance

Generative design, variable thicknesses and dual core carbon technology, a novelty in the world of skiing

Rossignol’s new Hi-Speed range of piste boots represents the culmination of a long journey of research and development that has transformed the ski boot into an efficient yet comfortable tool. A concept, that of comfort, that starts with the availability of as many as three internal sole sizes: 98, 100 and 102mm. The different configurations are key to ensuring that these boots can fit every skier, to improve performance and comfort at the same time.

This was made possible by Generative Design, a unique Rossignol design patent that allows hulls to be made that optimize material thicknesses, making them stiffer at the bottom and back of the cuff. The boot also results in variable thicknesses to optimize weight. Hi-Speed’s most innovative technology is called Dual Core Carbon and involves an injection of carbon fiber-reinforced polyether. This very stiff material fortifies the lower part of the hull and optimizes bending and torsion resistance on one side and rear support on the other, thus increasing the precision of the shoe.

Other technical touches include the asymmetrical cuff for better cornering precision and the pivot axis that is different from other Rossignol ranges: compared to its predecessor All Speed, it is positioned 1.2cm higher (more precision and more stability in cornering, maximum efficiency in edge change); compared to Hero, it is 1cm further forward (easier entry into cornering, more progressive flexing).
