Ryan Gellert è il nuovo CEO Patagonia
Patagonia has appointed the new Chief Executive Officer of Patagonia Works: Ryan Gellert. Since 2014, Gellert has led Patagonia in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
“Patagonia is not immune to the health, economic, social and environmental issues we are facing and the last year has been the most difficult in our company’s history. However, our mission requires us to continue to raise awareness among citizens and societies about the urgency of working to create a healthier world. We are committed, and always will be, to being more inclusive, just as being anti-racist is essential to our goal of saving the planet,” said Kris Tompkins, the first CEO in Patagonia’s history and currently a member of the Board of Directors. “Ryan is the right person with the best experience and the ideal leadership approach to lead our company. He will be supported by our management and the incredible Patagonia team, comprised at every level of people who have helped Patagonia to be what it is today. The work ahead of us will be more important and challenging than ever before and we are absolutely thrilled to discover what the future holds for us.”
By appointing Gellert as new CEO, the Patagonia board believes that his deep commitment to the company’s mission and values, as well as his international experience, can lead Patagonia to success in these uncertain times. Moreover, Gellert’s attention and dedication and his passion for Patagonia products and activism make him the right person to address the next chapter of the organization. In his previous role he led Patagonia to leadership in Europe in the outdoor sector and among environmental communities. Prior to joining the company, Gellert was President of Black Diamond, where he worked for almost nine years and before that, he volunteered his support at ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) Utah. A climber and backcountry snowboarder, Ryan has a passion for the pristine natural environment and has always lived in close contact with the Patagonia customer community.
