Salewa launches the new Lavaredo collection in textile hemp

The Lavaredo collection is sustainably produced and developed for climbing in the gym and in the outdoors

It is now a year since Salewa presented its first collection of technical climbing clothing with Alpine Hemp technology, which is based on the use of textile hemp. The aim is to exploit the extremely high potential of this material to make products with a significantly reduced environmental impact compared to cotton and synthetics. The fabric used immediately aroused curiosity in the climbing community, not only for the innovative materials and technologies, but above all for their technical performance and high sustainability. Given the enormous success of Alpine Hemp over the past twelve months, Salewa has decided to launch a new collection for spring 2022. Textile hemp remains the star of the collection: the fibres regulate body temperature and humidity (drying very quickly), help breathability and prevent unpleasant odors.

The team of experts led by Christine Ladstätter, Salewa’s innovation & special projects manager, has succeeded in achieving the ultimate in elasticity and abrasion resistance by combining the incredible properties of textile hemp with Salewa’s proven Durastretch technology to create a combination of high performance and sustainability. In addition to new designs and graphic styles, the Lavaredo in Alpine Hemp also features a significant innovation: each garment is sewn with the Salewa Committed icon, a label that indicates that the product guarantees durable technical performance and socially responsible and sustainable production. The new collection sees a wide range of products for men and women, from warm jackets and soft trousers to printed t-shirts and lightweight shorts.
