Salewa presents Dropline, the new speed hiking shoe

Dropline, the new speed hiking shoe for faster and longer walks

For the spring summer 2020 season Salewa is expanding its collection of successful technical speed hiking shoes with the introduction of Dropline, a new model developed to offer comfort through more effective walking that optimizes the energy of rolling and protects muscles and joints thanks to a generous cushioning device.

The essence of speed hiking is to walk fast in the mountains with all the variety of alpine terrain you can encounter. Climbs, descents, technical trails, wide beaten mule tracks, rocks, grass, mud and rubble. The catalogue of possibilities is almost endless, but with only one constant: muscles and joints are constantly put to the test. The faster the pace, the longer the hike, the greater the stress.

The Dropline is equipped with the new Pomoca Dropline outsole, designed around the characteristic track shaped like them that the pressure centre of the foot describes on the ground during rolling. The sole works in synergy with a generous cushioning midsole made of highly elastic foam, with a heel thickness 50-60% thicker than the other speed hiking models in the Salewa collection. But since there can be no efficient rolling without adequate grip, the Pomoca Dropline outsole is made of Pomoca Super Tractor butyl compound, already successfully used on Salewa tech approach footwear for climbing up to the fourth degree even in wet rock conditions.
