SCARPA supports the last edition of La Skieda

Telemark technique known for several decades for its antique but at the same time elegant style, today has conquered more and more fans thanks to its “free heel” charm that makes the style of descent a sort of dance on the snow. The birth of this style of descent is very famous as it is associated with the historical origins of skiing as a sport.
The biggest telemark festival in the world, born in Livigno in 1994, is the Skieda: the annual anniversary for all fans of this style that has gained more and more success over the years, attracting more and more skiers from all over the world. The festival, now at its 25th edition, has been successfully repeated for more than two decades and has created a global community of around 20,000 Telemarkers.

This year’s edition, which celebrates its 25th birthday, has been called “UltimaTraccia“, to celebrate a warm goodbye for the latest edition of this historic event.
To support the participants who have always actively believed in this event, the Telemark Club organizers wanted to give this name to the 2019 edition, which concludes a large circle of decennial editions. A last track like the ones left in the fresh snow, as a symbol of a big greeting for all the participants present in the previous editions.
The Skieda week, as every year, will involve the whole of Livigno with an air of celebration: in addition to all the appointments organized on the snow, there will also be concerts and parties in the local pubs of the Little Tibet that will entertain the whole country with fun.
