Since its launch on the market, Blizzard’s ZeroG line has set the tone in the world of touring. Blizzard ZeroG 95, this season, does not differ much from its predecessors, but they have some important improvements in order of usability. Yes, because ZeroG have always been incredible skis for their weight/skiability ratio but they were skis for a few people. This year the skiing was less stiff, but how did Blizzard do it? Let’s start with the construction: the core is in Paulownia, while the rest of the construction in Carbon drive 2.0. This carbon layup extends from the edges to the tip and tail with a little recession in the half of the ski’s body, leaving the wood core a little exposed on the sidewalls. This provides some response from the ski in downhill turns, and eliminates some of the vibrations and roughness of carbon construction. In addition, the ski has been reinforced in the binding area, ensuring that the feet remain nailed to the ski, increasing edge grip and cornering power and providing ample torsional rigidity. The result is a stable, responsive and less nervous ski than its predecessor. With its 95cm under the foot, ZeroG can become the only ski to use all season, both in fresh snow tours and in long spring adventures. Also this year, Blizzard ZeroG 95 is among the best choices in the free touring category, becoming a less demanding ski, but fun (and light) like few others.

We Like: Maneuverability and lightweight when climbing, performance when descending on almost all types of snow.
