In a few years, trail running shoes have been engineered a lot and have developed new technologies, but this not always means to have models suitable for the widest sporting public. Wave Daichi 7 is proof of how a traditional shoe can still be one of the best solutions for most runners. Daichi’s seventh version is a model designed for medium distances, both on hilly and mid-mountain trails, but it also works on longer or more demanding routes. In general it is very comfortable, thanks to the union of different elements: the new material of the upper, which, being quite firm and not too elastic, protects the foot without requiring too many buttresses that would weigh down the structure, a moderately padded tongue that increases the comfort of the fit, and a medium fit which adapts well to different feet. The typical wave shape of the dual compound midsole gives it good cushioning on off road terrains, while still being a bit stiff on asphalt. We liked the Michelin outsole, that works well on rock and dry terrains, but slightly less on wet grounds. Our testers recommend it to a fairly wide range of runners for any type of routes where the percentage of gravel and off road is very high.
