The Mountain is Woman
And how can we best inaugurate two all-female super days, if not with such a fine and totally apt exclamation? Cristina Parisotto, creative mind and the only woman on top of Scarpa, has managed with her charisma and her energy to enchant all the girls invited to this female camp, held on 9 and 10 July in the beautiful location of Livigno. For this experience with Scarpa we met her and she told us how hard it was to make her own way in a purely male environment and how Mojito was born, the famous Asolan brand shoe, which this year celebrates its tenth anniversary, and her incredible love for Nepal, which led the Italian company to contribute to the construction of a school. And in Livigno, on the occasion of these two sports days reserved for the media, we had an experience among women, where we had the opportunity to test a pair of shoe models, which combine performance, comfort and femininity. A two days away from the usual city tram tram, where we could rediscover the pleasure of being in touch with nature, surrounded by beautiful landscapes that were able to awaken that feeling of well-being and inner peace, making us remember to listen more to our body, letting us be guided by that feeling of joy, which only nature can give. In these two days, in addition to creating a beautiful complicity atmosphere, we had the opportunity to test the Neutron 2 and the Mescalito: the first designed for trail running and the second for technical approach, via ferrata and hiking on mountain trails.
As a first step, the Alpine Guides of Livigno, have chosen Avventurando, a new adventure path that branches out into the woods in the Mine Valley. A route that starts with a nice via ferrata and continues with a series of super funny pulleys, where many of us have been able to win one of their greatest fears: dizziness. On this occasion, the Neutron 2 behaved very well, especially on the descent, thanks to their comfortable fit and good cushioning, which proved to be very supportive. While we were able to test the Mescalito the next day in Val Federia, where with a light hiking of about an hour and a half, we reached the Malga Federia, a really charming place where you can taste the typical Valtellina dishes at km zero and where we relaxed under a warm July sun. After a rather stiff start, the shoes showed all their versatility, behaving very well on all types of terrain, keeping the ankle still, ensuring great stability. The Neutron 2 shoe is made of mesh with external cage in PU heat-sealed film to support it. It wraps like a sock thanks to the Sock-Fit LW construction system that avoids compression points and guarantees maximum comfort and excellent fit precision. The Mescalito shoe is made of water-repellent suede with tongue and collar in elastic material for greater comfort and it is specifically designed for the shape of the female foot. Versatile, it is suitable for any situation and available in different colours dedicated to the world of the female approach.
