The North Face Explore Fund: support for the outdoor community affected by the COVID-19 emergency

For more than 50 years, The North Face’s goal has been to help advance the world through exploration, an action that unites and lifts individuals both as individuals and as members of a global community. While the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors is rightly put on hold, the people, places and organizations that enable exploration around the world face an unprecedented challenge.

Through the Explore Fund, a social impact and advocacy platform, The North Face is investing €1 million to support the outdoor communities that make exploration possible across Europe. The company will work closely with national and local authorities to promote the outdoors in order to allocate funds and support the most critical situations, both now and throughout the recovery.

In addition, to support healthcare professionals and all those involved in the front line, The North Face has decided to donate its advertising space on television for the month of April, so that they can use it for their communications, sharing and disseminating information that is essential to deal with the period we are experiencing.

For health and safety reasons, The North Face stores are currently closed, following the recommendations of local governments, and will only reopen when it is safe and permitted to do so.

“This is a difficult time for everyone, but no one faces a greater challenge than those who put their lives at risk every day in the battle against COVID-19,” said Arne Arens, President of The North Face. “We feel a responsibility for what we do and are proud to support these heroes and join the global effort to give support and relief to those in need.

As the battle against COVID-19 continues and its impact becomes more significant, The North Face continues to look for new ways to support its front-line workers and those affected by the crisis, with the confidence that we will get back out there together.
