The Van that tours Europe and repairs bikes is back!

During the summer he will be in Italy, to “support” cyclists by offering coffee, mechanical assistance and sharing the stories of those who have chosen the bicycle!

In the year of the bicycle boom, it could not fail to return to Italian squares and bike paths the van that since 2018 has been touring Europe offering cyclists mechanical assistance and a coffee.

The appointment, starting July 25, will be in Italy, on the bike paths of Jesolo, Lake Garda, Treviso and in Mantua, during the Festival Letteratura, and other dates will be announced later.

After Milan, Innsbruck, Munich, Berlin, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Düsseldorf, Salzburg, Cologne, Constance, Stuttgart, Turin and many other cities, more than 2000 bikes repaired, more than 5000 coffees offered and more than 7000 cyclists met, it’s time to go again.

The numbers of the small and colorful van that, before the pandemic, crossed Italy, Austria, Germany and Holland on several occasions – the heart of the project “Support Cyclists On The Road”, conceived and realized by the Italian company Selle Royal, precisely to support urban mobility on two wheels and cycling tourism – are emblematic of a movement, that on two wheels, which has never before experienced a boom. In fact, the bicycle is more than ever at the center of a “green revolution” that is leading to imagine cities on a more human scale and to increasingly consider cycling tourism as an extraordinary resource to enhance the territories.

The Van will arrive there where cities and territories are marrying a philosophy close to cyclists and to meet enthusiasts, offering them free mechanical assistance and an Italian coffee.

The Van is in fact built on the one hand as a real small traveling workshop, on the other hand as an Italian cafeteria, with a professional coffee machine and a Bristot blend of coffees from South and Central America that satisfies even the most demanding palates.

On July 25 the van will be in Musile di Piave, at kiosk Salsi 17, on the bike path that connects Treviso to Jesolo; on July 31 and August 1 the appointment is in Torbole, on Lake Garda, which has always been a destination for cyclists from all over Europe; on September 4 and 5 the van will be hosted by Venice Bike Trail, along the Sile bike path (TV).

To close the summer program, to which new dates could soon be added, will be Mantua, which will welcome the van on Sunday, September 12, during the Literature Festival, one of the most important cultural events in Italy.

In each location the Van will become for one or two days the point of reference for cyclists, whether they are sportsmen, families or simply people who live by bike a part of their everyday life: the opportunity for a check-up, the pleasure of a coffee and the opportunity to have a chat are the thread along which the Van team meets cyclists of all kinds, ready to give advice or simply tighten a screw, where necessary.

The goal is also to spread the culture of the two wheels and “support”, not only with the saddles, in fact, those who choose the bicycle as part of their lifestyle.

It is a simple but concrete way to contribute to an idea of mobility that, in recent years, is becoming increasingly valuable to imagine more modern and livable cities.
