Under Armour HOVR Machina

Under Armour HOVR Machina

For the new season Under Armour presents Machina, a shoe that allows you to keep track of your training in real time.

Every runner is always looking for that extra advantage given by a highly cushioned running shoe for long distance races or by a light running shoe for a faster run. Under Armour has tried to solve this problem and find the perfect balance between cushioning and energy return, inserting these characteristics into a single product that guarantees maximum speed and a smooth run, to bring competitiveness to the highest levels.

Machina mixes the speed of a running shoe with the advantage of having a remote coach always available. Like all 2020 Under Armour shoes, it is digitally connected, allowing you to track and analyze your run. From February 1st 2020 Under Armour will introduce a personalized training function with real-time coaches that will help each runner to better manage the risk of injury and improve their performance. You will have a personalized remote coach providing instant feedbacks to achieve your goals. Athletes will also be able to measure the angle of the foot and the time of contact with the ground thanks to a post-race analysis and therefore have a more in-depth view of their shape, particularly useful in longer runs.

All of these features will be available with an uninterrupted and easy-to-use connection with MapMyRun, one of the largest digital health and fitness communities in the world, with 270 million users.

Coming to the shoe itself, UA Machina’s main features are lightweight and reactivity. What gives the shoe its rotation speed is the 2-pointed Pebax spring propulsion plate, filled with carbon, designed to maintain a fast pace at any distance. The shoe is also equipped with a new non-caged midsole and all the advantages of a soft HOVR shock absorber, without any extra weight. The cage supports UA HOVR under the midsole, while the sides are not caged, saving weight and still providing reactive cushioning.
