UA HOVR Coldgear Reactor with Michelin soles for winter runners

Some might say that “three are to many”, but Under Armour designers do not agree at all. Imagine a world without the Three Musketeers, the Beastie Boys or the garlic, oil and chilli paste.

Even UA HOVR ColdGear Reactor running shoes have a magical trio — three innovations that can’t be found anywhere else: UA HOVR cushioning, UA ColdGear Reactor technology and, for the first time ever on a road running shoe, Michelin soles. With the aim of improving athletes 365 days a year, Under Armor has created the perfect solution to prolong the winter racing season: it is the UA HOVR ColdGear Reactor – a footwear that keeps feet warm and dry even for runners facing the most extreme weather conditions.

These shoes feature three unique innovations in one shoe: the brand-new UA HOVR cushioning, the renowned Under Armor ColdGear Reactor technology, and the high-traction Michelin sole.

The upper features the ColdGear Reactor technology, which automatically adapts to the runner’s level of activity, ensuring the right level of breathability and warmth depending on the effort. The material, which comes from the Under Armor clothing line, is made of a soft and combed wool that keeps warm at the right point, while the strategic side inserts in mesh favor ventilation.

Under the insulated upper, the Under Armor HOVR foam cushioning features the midsole. The HOVR system ensures an ideal combination of shock absorber and energy return, without compromise. The cushioning is located in the “Energy Web” of Under Armor, specifically designed to give runners the reactivity and energy needed to give a boost to the cold winter pavement.

Under Armor has collaborated with Michelin – the experts of the “contact with the ground” between a moving object and any type of terrain, including asphalt, rock, ice and mud – to create the characteristic element of the shoe, the sole.
