Unlock The Change: The movement to unlock the change

The B Corp. launches a joint campaign to invite businesses and consumers to accelerate towards a sustainable future. The project includes a national call to action and outdoor planning in Milan, Rome and Naples.

Nothing will be the same as before: the health crisis of recent months and the lockdown have impacted on people’s lives on a planetary scale and challenged the foundations of our economic models. How can we channel the pressure for change fuelled by the COVID emergency and turn it into a driving force? How can we change paradigms and aim for a more sustainable economic model? What can citizens and businesses do to “unlock change”?
The B Corp business community, together with Nativa, one of the leading companies of the movement in Italy, invites reflection and action on these fundamental issues by launching the “Unlock The Change” campaign, an awareness raising project to ask businesses and institutions to accelerate towards an economic vision that responds to the priorities of our time: to create a sustainable economic and business system that regenerates society and the environment. The initiative kicks off today, Thursday 16 July, with the “TIME to B” summit, a virtual meeting day with 50 business leaders, members of the scientific and academic community, journalists and leading figures in the world of sustainability, who will share their passion and expertise together with the thousands of connected participants: all gathered together to understand how to build a fairer, more just and aware future.

The initiative also has a more ambitious goal: to involve consumers to play an active role in the transition to a more sustainable business. For this reason, Nativa and the B Corp partners of the project have created a wide-ranging campaign: outdoor communication with posters in the places of greatest passage in three cities (Milan, Rome and Naples) and a call to action to the public to ask for an even stronger and more concrete contribution from companies to improve people’s lives, society and the environment through their actions. Consumers will be invited to consult the website, find out about the initiatives and commitment of B Corp for the good of people and the planet and to do their part to “unlock change”. It will be possible to fill out an online form to ask companies for more transparency in terms of environmental and social sustainability: in this way, anyone can directly address the brands to which they feel particularly attached. At the end of the campaign, contributions from users and B Corp will be collected and sent to companies, who will be able to respond and inform consumers about their actions and future objectives.
