Valtellina Ebike Festival

Valtellina Ebike Festival

Valtellina wants to move, and does so in a healthy and ecological way on an electric mountain bike. The appointment not to be missed is next September 19th and 20th, date of the Valtellina Ebike Festival.

A weekend dedicated to electric mountain-bike with initiatives, races and excursions against the backdrop of an alpine area rich in natural beauty and a trail incredibly suitable for mountain-biking.

The epicentre of the event will be the beautiful and historic town of Morbegno (260 m above sea level), called “gates of Valtellina” because it gives access to the valley as soon as you pass Lake Como. The initiatives will spread over the wide territory of the Lower Valtellina.
The first day of the event will be dedicated to the Ride Festival: a great challenge suitable for everyone on an incredibly scenic 40 km route. A tour that crosses the Rhaetian side of the valley, called Costiera dei Cech by the locals (it seems that the name, of medieval origin, derives from the fact that the people of these places were very attached to pagan rites and therefore defined “blind to the faith” by the preachers who spread the Gospel). Along the way you will come across vineyards, castles, historic villages, monumental churches, cellars dug into the rocks and panoramic viewpoints that embrace the entire Lower Valtellina and Upper Lake Como. The tour is designed to guarantee fun and an exciting experience for every skill level: from professional bikers to mountain-bike enthusiasts or those who simply want to enjoy a nice day on the bike.

On the second day you can choose between six e-bike tours, which have as their destination the most spectacular places of the Lower Valtellina. For food and wine lovers, there are two excursions dedicated to local excellence: wine and cheese. Here the vines are cultivated on stone terraces in order to take advantage of an exceptional microclimate guaranteed by the southern exposure, towards the light and warmth of the sun, of the Rhaetian coast. On the orobic side and precisely in the valleys of Gerola and Albaredo, thanks to special processing methods, Bitto cheese, appreciated all over the world, is produced.
