William Bostadloekken and Berenice Dode win World Rookie Fest 2023

Livigno and Mottolino Snowpark were enlivened by the competitions of 90 young freeskiers, of which only 9 qualified for the 2023 World Rookie Finals.

16 Nations, 90 young freeskiers: these are the numbers of the second edition of the World Rookie Fest held in Livigno. The event started with a presentation night at Cinelux on Wednesday, January 18 to watch the World Rookie TV Show – which you can watch in the next few days on Black Yeti channels. Stay updated here

Bad weather unfortunately forced the organizers to cancel the qualifications scheduled for Thursday, but in the evening all riders had a chance to have fun along the Night Rail Season at Snowpark20. Jeremy Boiston (FRA) won Best Trick, while Melvin Seliberg (SWE) was named best rider of the night.

Friday was the day: all freeskiers were able to compete together in the legendary Mottolino Snowpark, judged through a double up panel. A course with two lines, the first L/XL with a rail section, two kickers, a cannon rail and the second M with three kickers and another rail section. In the men’s Rookie category William Bostadloekken (SWE) came out on top, while in the women’s category skier Berenice Dode (FRA) won. The Grom category also saw great performances but only two took the top step of the podium: Melvin Seliberg (SWE) for the male and Zoe Van Essen (SUI) for the female.

All riders who made it to the podium in the rookie and grom categories, male and female, are called for the 2023 World Rookie Finals to be held in Madonna di Campiglio from March 26-30, 2023.
