From Portland to Copenhagen, Scandinavian design rewrites the volumes of hybrid footwear.
Wearing something is never a neutral gesture, and when it comes to Keen, every line—from the geometry of the sole to the choice of materials—becomes a narrative act. This time the story begins in Portland but speaks Scandinavian: it’s the meeting between the brand’s technical DNA and Henrik Vibskov’s avant-garde vision. The designer played with colors and shapes to create an open-air sneaker that challenges conventions, transforming functionality into a bold and minimal visual language. Vibskov’s approach wasn’t a simple chromatic restyling; he worked on volumes, inserting circular silhouettes within the organic structure that made the two-cord system famous, with the goal of exploring how far the brand’s identity could be pushed without betraying its soul.
As Vibskov himself explains, the idea was to insert an almost disc-like shape to give the model a new essential aesthetic, while experimenting with materials capable of moving between urban and outdoor contexts. This vision materializes in the Uneek 360 “Brindle Scarlet Ibis,” an asymmetric and modern evolution characterized by a lightweight knit upper that wraps the foot naturally. Here, the neutral base is interrupted by bold chromatic accents that reflect the designer’s artistic direction, ensuring flexibility and durability for everyday use. Alongside this more technical and synthetic version, the collaboration explores more refined territories with the Uneek Leather. Made with premium leather cords, this interpretation elevates the sneaker toward a more sophisticated everyday style, available in contemporary colorways like “Bronze Green” or the natural tones of “Birch Canteen.”
Both models guarantee the distinctive fit and traction that have made the brand a reference point for those who live outdoors, but they do so while carrying a new cultural relevance. The collection thus confirms an increasingly strong trend toward hybrid footwear: an object capable of moving effortlessly from an art gallery to a beaten path. It’s proof that designer craftsmanship can elevate technical function, creating pieces ready to leave their mark on both earth and asphalt, demonstrating that functionality has never been so close to art.
