On International Women’s Day, some give flowers, while others, like LaMunt, celebrate a radical shift in how we experience the mountains.

The Oberalp Group brand doesn’t just present a collection: it spotlights its Designed Process, a creative journey that flips the rules of technical outdoor apparel. For too long, technical mountain gear has been dominated by a male perspective, where women were forced to adapt to cuts, volumes, and priorities designed for different bodies. LaMunt was born from a break with this past. Ruth Oberrauch’s insight—founder of the brand and vice president of Oberalp—was as simple as it was powerful: stop “adapting” and start “creating” from scratch. It comes from a real need: that of us women looking for technical performance without having to sacrifice our identity.

The heart of LaMunt isn’t in software, but in dialogue. The creative team is in constant conversation with a community of female mountaineers, professionals, athletes, and creatives. Women of different ages and backgrounds, united by the same refusal to settle for standardized solutions. It’s from these chats on the trails that garments take shape—where technicality, durability, and sustainability aren’t just labels, but guarantees of freedom of movement. Every seam, every material is designed to follow the female body, respecting its ergonomics and specific needs at high altitudes.

This International Women’s Day, LaMunt has decided to give a voice and a face to the women who make all of this possible. They aren’t just names on an organizational chart, but the minds and hands that transform an idea into a technical product of excellence:

Ruth Oberrauch, the soul and Brand Manager;

Elena Colombo, who leads the commercial side;

Samuela Caldato, Senior Product Developer;

Giulia Carraro, Product Manager;

Maria Teresa Castelli and Manuela Ferrario (Studio Taste), the design minds.

These professionals are living proof that “By women for women” isn’t just a slogan to print on a t-shirt, but a concrete working method that is changing the rules of the game in the mountains. Because when women design for women, the summit is only the beginning.
