Twenty years, promising curriculum and decidedly Rise Up spirit: Sébastien and Fabien Guichardaz join the Millet team

Millet is expanding his team of athletes and for ski mountaineering he is relying on Sébastien and Fabien Guichardaz, supporting them in a season that has seen the two athletes involved in the jump from Junior to Under 23.

Sébastien and Fabien, twins, born in Cogne in 1999, grew up at the foot of Gran Paradiso, cultivating a passion for the mountains and ski mountaineering from a very young age. “Our skiing experience started when we were 6 years old on narrow skis, Cogne is a beautiful place to practice cross-country skiing” – says Fabien – “But when the season ended we liked to wear sealskins under narrow skis and do ski mountaineering with our parents, fixing ourselves for the descent with rudimentary rasp poles”.

2020 was a year of transition: the two athletes engaged in the change of category – from Junior to Under 23 – and the season ended due to the health emergency Covid 19. “Although short, I close the season with the 6th place between Under 23 and 27th place in the Senior World Cup ranking” – says Sébastien Guichardaz who shows all his enthusiasm for the goals achieved – “I still have a long way to go and I am proud that to accompany me towards new challenges in the mountains is a historical and performing brand like Millet”.

Sébastien and Fabien Guichardaz are now starting a new chapter in their mountaineering evolution together with Millet. Next season they will focus on joining the National Team and the World Cup, as well as of course the Grande Course races.
