Swimwear in recycled fibre Econyl – PrAna

For more than 20 years, prAna has been committed to environmentally friendly products, not only in the active and lifestyle collections, but also in the swimwear sector. The Californian brand has constantly evolved and improved its water sportswear in terms of sustainability, finally reaching a milestone: with swimwear for summer 2020, prAna has managed to replace virgin polyester and 100% nylon with recycled Econyl fiber. It is a recycled nylon, where its raw materials, such as fishing nets, fabric remains, old carpets or industrial plastics, come from landfills and oceans around the world. It works similarly to virgin nylon fibers, with the difference that it can be recycled and reshaped over and over again. This regenerated nylon, is not only a solution for waste, but a better alternative to fight climate change: according to the manufacturer Aquafil, reduces the impact of nylon on global warming by up to 80% compared to the material derived from oil. By choosing a swimwear, you’re taking a step against environmental pollution by reducing your CO2 footprint. In addition to being durable, having a perfect fit and bright colors and prints, they are now also 100% sustainable!
