Adidas unveils new Supernova line

Adidas revamps the Supernova line by launching new shades inspired by the excitement of running. Redesigned in a distinctive Orange Spark, which will feature throughout this year’s collection, the shoes are accompanied by a matching total look complete with accessories. The Supernova line consists of the renowned Supernova Rise and two new models presented exclusively: the Supernova Solution and the Supernova Stride. The three silhouettes are characterized by the material Dreamstrike foam, an adidas recoded technology inspired by the Lightstrike Pro foam used in the already beloved and award-winning Adizero line, but with a Updated formula that aims to provide increased comfort and improved cushioning. In addition to Dreamstrike foam, the three models have the following features.

Supernova Rise

Support Rods: The outsole of each Rise features a dense foam system loaded into the bottom, providing neutral support from heel to toe for super-smooth transitions that help rides flow effortlessly.

Comfort Heel Fit: a combination of soft cushioning support foam and gentle fabric around the heel that work in tandem to hug the heel with comfortable support.

Supernova Stride

Eva carrier: cushioning in the forefoot is supported by a complementary Eva carrier to ensure that runners’ transitions are both dynamic and supportive.

Adiwear outsole: an innovative outsole made of durable rubber provides optimal traction. We’ve even added strategically designed cuts to provide grip where you need it most.

Supernova Solution

Stability Support Rods: dual-density support rods and optimized geometry on the medial side for better support where runners need it.

Adiwear outsole: an innovative outsole made of durable rubber that offers optimal traction and features strategically designed cutouts to provide grip where runners need it most.

An analysis of the factors that motivate running

Adidas commissioned a global research conducted by Focaldata involving 2,674 runners in 11 international cities. The study identified that wearing uncomfortable shoes is the main demotivating factor for starting or continuing running (47 percent). Other obstacles include excessive heat (45 percent), cold temperatures (43 percent), lack of motivation (38 percent) and uneven or slippery surfaces (37 percent). About a quarter of runners (23 percent) decide not to run because of these discomforts, with shoes playing a key role. Even for those who run despite discomfort, the impact is evident: many reduce the duration of their run (37 percent), complain of an influence on mood (29 percent), and change the route (33 percent). In addition, research has identified that running in the morning on a sunny day with a light breeze is considered the ideal running environment, except for runners in Seoul who prefer evening running.
