Anna Comet Pascua wins the Marathon Des Sables

The Spanish athlete of the SCARPA Team wins the 270km race in the Sahara desert.

Anna Comet Pascua, who has been part of the SCARPA team for a few months, won for the first time the Marathon des Sables, the race that covers 270km entirely in the Sahara desert. The athlete won every stage of the competition, finishing in 24 hours, 18 minutes and 33 seconds.

“Sometimes dreams come true and become reality – commented Anna Comet Pascua after the award ceremony. “I have always based my personal and professional life on effort, determination to improve, sportsmanship and respect for nature and the environment. I started the 2022 season with the utmost enthusiasm and ambition to continue to achieve great successes and I am really happy to do it together with SCARPA, for all that it represents and the values it transmits.”

Marco De Gasperi, brand manager of SCARPA, adds: “Anna’s victory represents, in the imagination of every ultrarunner, one of those goals that alone are worth a career. But it is also a great example of stubbornness and tenacity on the part of a mother, a non-professional athlete, who, at the age of forty, finally achieved an extraordinary result after many years of running in the mountains and making sacrifices. On behalf of our company, we would like to thank Anna, and all the athletes who represent SCARPA every day in competitions all over the world, for the emotions they make us live”.
