Asics continues to experience significant growth!

Asics Emea is pleased to report a 44% increase in consolidated net revenues across all distribution channels, compared to the same period last year. In addition, operating income increased significantly to €70.5 million.

From the beginning of the year to the end of June 2021, the Japanese company reported 52% growth in wholesale sales across the Emea region. The annual increase in these earnings was 116% in Italy, 43% in Germany, 77% in France, 50% in the UK and 111% in Spain. E-commerce has also seen a 45% increase in sales since the beginning of the year compared to last year.

Carsten Unbehaun, Managing Director Asics Emea, says: “Covid-19 continues to be a challenge around the world. Despite the very positive results in our region, we are managing our business carefully so as to ensure a better experience going forward.

Across the region we are currently seeing unprecedented demand for Asics products. Our business has grown significantly compared to last year as a result of product innovation and more people choosing Asics. We are seeing increased profits across all distribution channels, a factor that demonstrates the positive momentum in the region.”

 

Record-breaking innovation

Following the launch of MetaSpeed Sky, in June Asics unveiled MetaSpeed Edge, the shoe designed to improve the performance of the cadence runner by enabling an increase in speed of movement with each stride and improving control of running pace. Both are high-performance running shoes and are designed to help athletes achieve their best results. In fact, over 100 elite athletes have already achieved personal bests wearing MetaSpeed Sky and MetaSpeed Edge.

 

Tennis Number One Chooses Asics Again

In May 2021, during a historic year for his career, the renewal of the partnership between Novak Djokovic and Asics was announced. Since the first partnership in 2018, Djokovic has climbed the rankings and won eight titles. The number one player in the world, the athlete has held this record for multiple consecutive weeks. Djokovic said, “For me, Asics makes the best shoe technology in the world. Continuing this partnership reassures me that I will be able to continue playing with the best technology possible.”

 

Asics’ most sustainable collection

In April, Asics unveiled the Earth Day Pack, its most planet-conscious collection to date. The cross-category line was created using 5 tons of textile waste, equivalent to 25 thousand t-shirts, converted into new footwear.
