Asics official sponsor World Athletics Athlete Refugee Team


ASICS
will offer training, competition kits and footwear to the elite and U20 refugee teams, as well as access to the brand’s training facilities around the world.

Founded in Kenya in 2014 in partnership with the Tegla Loroupe Peace Foundation, ART is composed of athletes who have fled violence, conflict and injustice in their homeland. The team members made their first competitive appearance as part of theRefugee Olympic Team(Refugee Olympic Team) at the 2016 Rio de Janiero Olympic Games. Since that debut in Brazil, the Athlete Refugee Team has participated in almost every World Athletics Series event. At present, the World Athletics Refugee program consists of 32 athletes based in Kenya, Israel, France, Sweden, Switzerland, Germany and the United Kingdom. The team will make its next appearance at the nearby Budapest 23rd World Athletics Championships, to be held Aug. 19-27.

ASICS has been an official partner of World Athletics since 2017. Underlining its commitment to the world of athletics, the partnership was extended in 2019 through 2029 to ensure the company’s involvement and presence in all World Athletics Series events.
In alignment with the philosophy ofAnima Sana In Corpore Sano, ASICS has committed to ART’s “Lifetime Athletes in All of Us” project through 2026. The partnership also stands as a key step in the long-term definition of ASICS’ “VISION2030.”
