ASICS x Kenzo: relaunch of Gel-kayano 20
ASICS presents Gel-kayano 20 with Kenzo
ASICS presents Gel-kayano 20, the first sneaker made in collaboration with Kenzo and designed by Nigo, artistic director of the French fashion house. Launched in 2013, Gel-kayano 20 features excellent cushioning over long distances. Its silhouette is inspired by the design of buildings and automobiles, with a structure that provides various functionalities. The model originated as a stable running shoe and is now relaunched by Kenzo as a lifestyle sneaker. Two of the three color variants are inspired by Kenzo’s classic tiger. The upper is made of synthetic fur combined with a velour texture, while the TPU cage features the tiger pattern. The Digital Aqua/Black coloring recalls typical Kenzo colors while the Glacier Grey/Black coloring echoes the look of white tigers. The third variant, on the other hand, refers to the idea of “running around the world,” with bright tones and the flags of the various countries referred to by them.
